Antdela Oleander otherwise known as Ollie finished his puppy career with another Best Puppy in Show at Sheffield and District Open Show last weekend, AV Gundog classes were judged by Mr Nev Newton and the Best in Show Judge was Jeff Horswell, in all Ollie has won six Best Puppy in Show awards, well done.

Today was the City of Birmingham Championship Show,, IWS were judged by Mr David Moss unfortunately he only had an entry of 32 dogs of which 12 were absent on the day Dog CC and Best of Breed was Malanis Dudley owned by Lisa Walker, Reserve Dog C Antdela Oleander owned by Ant Andrews, Bitch CC was Zanfi Tyhoon owned by Liz Waters and Reserve Bitch CC Malais Betts owned by Hannah Cooper. Best Puppy  in breed and as BEST PUPPY N GROUP was Fynder Sea Biscuit of Glenderry owned by Vickie Norman Massa the Gundog Puppy Group was judged by  Mr Ellis Hulme   Entries  at General Championship Shows seem to be declinng at the moment, hopefully they will increase in the future.

Other news from Birmingham Show, Chris Attwood was showing her young Chinese Crested Puppy and was 2nd in the puppy class from an entry of 12 and then took him into the Puppy Stakes where he gained 2nd place  from a large entry of 36 dogs.

I hope you will not mind me reminding you of the IWSA Open Show which takes place on 12th October, the Association is very fortunate  and privileged that our judge this year is Greg Siner, from the USA, Greg is one of the top breeders and handler in the States  so even if you do not usually show your dog how about entering the show as it would be nice if  Greg was able to see as many of the IWS in the UK as possible we are also intending to have an audience with Greg after the show.  As Greg is travelling thousand of miles to join us I am sure that he would appreciate meeting and seeing as many people and dogs as possible.

Chris Attwood has asked me to appeal for volunteers to help out with a Vulnerable Breeds feature on both days at Darlington Show, dogs need to be  good natured and reasonable examples of the breed, similar to dogs who appear at discover dogs, if you are interested in helping please contact her on 01526 322081 or doonbeg@tiscali.co.uk
