Blog Dog Blog 1st November 2008

Irish Water Spaniels did not have classes at Midland Counties Canine Society  Show last week but several IWS were entered in the AVNSC Classes , Best Dog and BOB was Sh Ch Zanfi Ego owned by Liz Waters, he then went on to achieve Group 3 in the Gundog Group, the AVNSC  judge was  Elina Tan from Finland  and the Gundog Group Judge was Renee Sporre-Willes from Sweden . Elina Tan also  judged the Championship Stakes where she awarded a VHC to Sh Ch Zanfi Tabitha owned by Nick Waters.

The IWSA have organized a Requirements of a Dog Show Judge and a Stewarding  seminar on Sunday 23rd November at Enderby, more details and tickets are available from Chris Attwood on 01526 322081 or doonbeg@tiscali.co.uk.

News from Chris Attwood, at Grantham & District Open Show today, her Chinese Crested Puppy Souldrop Chinese Whispers won the Puppy Class, was Best Puppy in Breed, Best Puppy in the Toy Group and went on to win Best Puppy in Show, congratulations Chris.

I had an e-mail this week about an IWS who was in a RSPCA home, if in future you hear this happening in your area, can you please inform the people concerned that the IWSA has a re-homing/rescue service and the person to contact is Chris Attwood .

I know it is nine months away but please make a note of this date  in your diary, it is Saturday 18th July 2009, and the event is the IWSA Championship Dog Show which is taking place by kind permission of Mrs Anne McDermott at Kitebrook House Morton-in-March, the “older members” will remember the previous shows held there, anyone not been there before, I am sure will find the venue unique, the show ring is the lawns on the front of the house with magnificent views of the rolling Gloucestershire country side, the judge will be the IWSA President Pepi Barrington.
