Bog Dog Blog 27th November 2008

(Apologies for the late appearance of this blog due to technical issues. Jaki Porter - webmaster)

News from Marion Kong, she and Liberty (Cuardach Freedom of Flight Imp USA) were placed 12th recently in a grade 1-7 open agility class of 160 dogs. This is a great achievement as she is only a grade 1 dog and all the other dogs placed were grade 6 or 7 dogs and handlers. Well done.

Vickie Norman- Massa had a good weekend last week, on Saturday her young dog Fynder Sea Biscuit of Glenderry won Best of Breed under Mrs D Holman (Silvanus) and went on to win Group 2, the judge being Larry Wilkes. On the Sunday he again went  Best of Breed , the judge this time being Mr David Smith (Leonardston) he was then short-listed for Best in Show.

Unfortunately I have some sad news, Chris & Keith Attwood have lost  Sh Ch Doonbeg Passion (Lotus), after a short illness, she was  ten and a half years old, and was by Sh Ch Zanfi Pride and  Sh Ch Doonbeg Kismet she was a much loved companion to them. I saw her when I visited Lincolnshire in September, her last public appearance was at Crufts in March when she won the Veteran Bitch Class , she had a lovely day out and certainly showed some of the young ones how to move in the show ring.

Our Chef Leslie (Wormleighton) is leaving the country next week, she and her husband Rob are emigrating to Slovenia where there a setting up a small hotel, I am sure that you will join me in wishing them well. anyone who goes and stays there will be” well fed and watered “. Lesley will certainly be missed by the members. Lesley is a professional Chef and has served on the committee of the IWSA for many years, and her cooking has been appreciated by members and various judges over many years.

The IWSA held a very successful Judging and Stewarding Seminar last weekend, unfortunately at the last minute I was unable to attend but I have heard that the speakers were extremely good.

Don’t forget the closing date for adverts for the Year Book has been brought forward this year any adverts received after the date cannot be published so get them posted off before the Christmas Rush.
