Bog Dog Blog 2nd August 2009

Things have been a bit hectic at home this week, our son David got married yesterday, so Don and I have gained two  lovely new Granddaughters to go with the two we already had, we had a lovely day, except for the weather, it was the usual English summer weather, raining!!

At Kitebrook, Chris Attwood judged the Junior Handling, the winner was Miss  Drew Willoughby and prizes were also won by Georgia Brown, Oscar Tarbox and Jennifer Nicholls , Congratulations to you all, hopefully they will continue to love IWS and become exhibitors in the years ahead.

At the recent East of England Championship Show, not only did Ant Andrews do the double but  he also won the Brace Stakes, well done

Yesterday was National Gundog Association Championship Show, there was an entry of 24 dogs with only 1 absent on the day,I WS were judged by Miss R Johnson, Dog CC was Holbain Muddy Duck owned by Pauline, Stuart Furber and Ian & Angie Biggs, the reserve dog ticket went to Sh Ch Antdela Oleander SHCM owned by Ant Andrews, the Bitch CC and Best of Breed was Sh Ch Zanfi Tabitha owned by Mr N Waters and the reserve was Foulby Fire Opel owned by Angela Williams, David Craig and Penny Willoughby , I don’t know if there was an award for Best Puppy in breed but the winners of the Puppy dog  and bitch  classes were Stanegate Step to Freedom, owned by Judith Carruthers and Foulby Calm Before the Storm, also owned by Angela, David & Penny. Antdela Oleander (Ollie)  had more success , he was entered in the Championship Stakes and took fourth place, the judge was  Mrs F Coward-Scholes.

At the recent North of England Spaniel Club Show IWS were  judged by Neil Hume (Oakedge) Best of Breed was Byjazz Reggie owned by Brenda Triffitt, Reserve Best of Breed was Foulby Fire Whistle owned by Mrs Eccles and Best Puppy was Foulby Cast No Shadow owned by Mr J Longthorne & Mrs S Eccles. The North of England Spaniel Club is one of the Society’s that picks a judge from the Associations list  thus helping up and coming judges and takes advantage of the Sponsorship offered by the Association.

Yesterday was also the Chinese Crested Championship Show, with the judge being from the U.S.A.   There was an entry of over 200 dogs and in the Limit Dog class 22 were entered, I am pleased to say that Souldrop Chinese Whispers For Doonbeg ( Mikey) owned by Chris & Keith came first and went on to win the Dog CC, with such a big entry, the judging started at 10.am and finished at 7 O’clock in the evening , this was Mikey’s 2nd CC .
