Bog Dog Blog 3rd January 2010

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and New Year.

News from overseas,  in Ireland last week   SH CH/IR SH CH/SU CH Gatewood Invitation from Coleenville ( Remix)  owned by Heather, Norman and Coleen Large  won her 20th group (at all breeds  championship shows) at the IKC’s St Stephen’s Day Show and finished 4th best in show.

Over in the USA Greg Siner ‘s new year started with a bang his bitch Ch Poole’s Ide Then There’s Maude   presented Greg with  two dogs and six bitches .

During the last week there have been three shows that I know of when IWS’s have had classes, out of the three only one The Nottingham and Sherwood Foresters Open Show took advantage of sponsorship offered by the IWSA by choosing a judge from the Association’s judging lists, and it certainly paid of for them as the judge chosen, Neil Hume he had an entry of 12 which is very good for an Open Show. I understand that the other two shows, who just gave the classes to a judge who was judging another breed had very poor entries Best of Breed was Fynder Sea Biscuit of Glenderry owned by Vickie Norman Massa . Reserve Best of Breed was Doonbeg Faith in Dreams owned by Chris & Keith Attwood and best puppy  Malanis Standor by Glenderry  who is also owned by Vickie and was attending his first show.

Any of you who are involved with any canine societies that hold classes for IWS’s might like to remind them that we have been offering for the last couple of years, sponsorship if a judge is chosen from the Association’s lists, this decision was taken to boost entries at open shows and to enable up and coming judges of the future to gain experience.

Dukeries Gundog Society held their open show today,  the judge was a Ms Sharon Clarke, Best of Breed was Doonbeg Meant to Be At Pentandra )AI) owned by Sharron Peck and Alan Spinks and Reserve Best of Breed was   Doonbeg Faith in Dreams owned by Chris & Keith Attwood, Best Puppy was Antdela Lucianna owned by Ant Andrews, Adele Blades and Alison McNaught.

Don’t forget entries close for the year book this week the final date is January 7th.

Keep the news coming
