It is with great sadness that I have to inform you all of the sudden death on the 20th January
at Barnet General Hospital of Christine Bateman. Christine with her husband Bryan bred and
owned Irish Water Spaniels for nearly 40 years, and they made up many Sh Champions under their Rosetyne
affix. Christine was on the Association’s A1 judging list and had judged at several Championship Shows including the
IWSA .
Christine’s funeral arrangements have not been finalized yet but it is expected to
take place at the Chiltern Crematorium, Amersham, Buckinghamshire, when I have the details I will print them on the blog.
I am sure that you will all wish to join me in sending condolences to Bryan and her Daughters Fleur
and Celina on this very sad occasion.

Canine Society Show was held recently, IWS’s did not have classes but three were entered in AVNSC Gundog
the judge was Miss E W Newton and I am pleased to say they all had a good day,Open Dog and Best of Breed was Sh Ch
Antdela Oleander SHCM owned by Ant Andrews, Ollie then went on to gain Group 4 in the Gundog Group, there was an entry of
5 in the pupppy dog class and this was won by Antdela Leonardo also owned by Ant ,Adele and Alison McNaught
and to complete the day in the puppy bitch class, Antdela Lucianna owned by Ant was second from an entry of eleven .
News from Diane Wheeler that her IWS Lexie is doing very well at agility and is going
to appear in the February edition of a national dog magazine.
