Bog Dog Blog 31st January 2010

Following the recent sad death of Christine Bateman, I have received an e-mail from Bryan with details of the funeral arrangements, anyone who knew Christine are welcome to attend but Bryan would appreciate anybody who wishes to do so to contact him to let the family know how many people to cater for.

The Funeral will be held at Chilterns Crematorium-Milton Chapel, Whielden Lane, Amersham, Bucks HP7 0ND – 01494 724263 on Monday 15th February 2010 at 11:30am.

A reception will be held afterwards at The Douglas McMinn Centre East St, Chesham, Bucks HP5 1DG – 01494 783636 from 12:30 to 15:00.

The family would prefer donation’s rather than floral tributes to the charities that Christine supported. Donations can be made directly to the charity or via the Funeral Directors, (Heritage & Sons 33-35 Hill Avenue, Amersham, Bucks HP6 5BX) stating which charity you wish to support & Re: Christine Bateman.

The Dogs Trust – www.dogstrust.org.uk

The Irish Water Association Welfare Fund, donations are only via cheque, made payable to the fund and sent directly to me Jean Gomm, Hon Treasurer, Irish Water Spaniel Association, Chessrose, 103 Rose Drive, Chesham, Bucks, HP5 1RT

If you need to contact the family please email christinebryan@onetel.net or call Bryan on 01442 833332

Bryan has also emailed me directions to the venues so if you need them e-mail me and I will forward them to you.

Marion & Robert Kong e-mailed the news that last weekend that their lovely Lola had died, she had been unwell for a week and had many tests but she became much weaker and was admitted to the Royal Veterinary College where her condition rapidly detoriated and she died suddenly, she was born in June 2001, her sire was Doonbeg Sting and her dam Doonbeg Balti, she was not shown very much but did a lot of different activities with Marion including Agility Obedience and Tracking, she was a marvellous ambassador for the breed, and will be greatly missed by Marion and Robert

Last week-end was Manchester Championship Dog Show, IWS’s did not have classes but four were entered in AVNSC under judge Mr Stuart Plane, and from an entry of 26 Sh Ch Antdela Oleander ShCM owned by Ant Andrews won Best Dog and Best of Breed and Best Puppy was Malanis Sandor by Glenderry owned by Vickie Norman-Massa.

Keep the news coming
